About SkyChild

Skychild is an organization which strives to bring the children of orphanages and poor boarding homes to the mainstream of society. It focuses on the integral development of the children by uplifting their motivation and enhancing their mental wealth through intensive training and warm-hearted caring.

Soaring the Kites of Youthfulness (SKY)

Childhood is like an ocean of opportunities and children are supposed to explore them, learn from them and utilize them for their future. However, due to certain unpleasant harsh realities of life like poverty and ignorance, some parents are compelled to leave their kids at the mercy of nature. These kids are vulnerable to mental, physical or emotional exploitation leading to the deprivation of their childhood.

Educating these kids in life skills and getting a dignified life for them through employment or entrepreneurship are the most imperative ways of breaking the cycle of vulnerability. Children in institutional care or support are to be the focal point who need capacity building so that they would build an integrated social life, together with economic and identity integration beyond the boundaries of the institutions.

These children need mentoring, guidance, and training to identify themselves and build on their strengths. SKYCHILD is a dream project of a group of volunteers, who are ready to devote some of their time to breaking the ‘chains of vulnerability’ and ‘letting these children fly high’ through a holistic approach with a strategic vision.
